Clinic for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Renessans (Poland)

A comprehensive programme for treating addiction and mental health disorders with in-depth exploration of the causes
About the programme

In the Renaissance addiction treatment clinic in Poland, the recovery program aims not only to eliminate the addiction but also to work deeply with internal causes, thinking, and self-perception. Addiction is viewed as a coping mechanism for stress and emotions, rather than a personality trait.

Over time, people begin to identify with their problem, which strengthens their dependence. The task of therapy is to break this cycle and restore a holistic perception of oneself.

How addiction affects a person

Addiction shapes not only behaviour, but also our internal state:
Destructive actions first appear → then feelings of shame, anxiety, and guilt arise → stable beliefs about oneself are formed.

As a result, a person starts to perceive the problem as part of their identity. In therapy, it's important to restore understanding: a person is more than their reactions and experiences.

The basis of recovery

In the process of addiction treatment, a person gradually regains contact with themselves and begins to see: personal experience and life history, suppressed feelings and inner needs, their values and guidelines, as well as the potential for recovery and change. This forms a foundation for a stable life free from addiction.

Key changes in thinking

One of the main stages is changing your perception of yourself and your reactions: not «I am addiction», but «I am facing difficulties»; not «I am weak», but «I am finding things difficult right now»; not «I am the problem», but «I have a challenge I can work on». This approach reduces internal conflict and allows for conscious choice.

Forming a new model of life

In Poland's addiction treatment programmes, particular attention is paid to values and internal compasses: what is important to a person, who they want to be, and what to rely on in life. A modern approach is applied: awareness instead of suppression, understanding instead of fighting, working with causes instead of just treating symptoms.

Programme outcome:

Getting to know yourself forms the basis of recovery and allows for:
to restore inner balance, change behaviour and reactions, and establish a sustainable, addiction-free way of life.

The main outcome is that a person stops defining themselves by their problem and begins to build a mindful and stable life.
